HOWARD NASH (917) 414-6332 Howard Nash has actively been producing movies since 1991. In 1993, he co-produced "Children of the Night", a vampire-thriller based on an original screenplay by William Hopkins. The film starred Garret Morris, Peter DeLuise, Amy Dolenz and Karen Black, and was released by Columbia Tri-Star in 1994. Produced for $1.5 million, the film has sold 75,000 + videocassettes to date, and has earned more than $6 million in videocassette rentals. It has aired on both HBO and Showtime, and remains a regular staple on the Sci-Fi Cable Channel. Although the film had a brief, theatrical run, its main success has been found in the video and cable markets, both in the U.S. and abroad (it was released on DVD in August, 2004). According to Video Store Magazine, the film was available in one out of every two video stores in the U.S. in its initial release. In 1997 Howard produced "Prime Suspects", a crime-drama in association with Artist View Entertainment; produced independently, it has been released in more than 20 countries to date, including South America, Germany, Italy, Spain and Indonesia. It was released on home video in the United States as "The Perfect Heist" in January, 2000. In 2005, he produced "Tracks", a intense prison drama starring Ice-T and John Heard. Based on a true story, the controversial film won First Prize at the Long Island Film Expo in 2006. His television credits include "Feliciano, The Legend" for PBS, a one hour music special that broadcast nationally in 1999. Starring Jose Feliciano, the show additionally includes interviews with Edward James Olmos, George Benson and Carlos Santana. He also co-produced "The Deep North" for CBS, a one hour documentary special which earned him a NY, Emmy-Award nomination. He also produced "The Music of E.L.O.", a 90 minute concert special featuring the original members of the Electric Light Orchestra. In May, 2002, Howard produced his fourth film, "Sleepless Nights" also written by William Hopkins. The film stars Jacqueline Anderson, and was released through MTI Home Video in November, 2003 (see web site, www.sleeplessnights-themovie.com). To date, more than 70,000 units (videos and DVDs) have been shipped to stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. When he's not busy developing and producing, Howard can be found teaching film production courses at two colleges here in New York. He resides in New York City. |
